Feeling My Parents Close by..

Have you ever felt a love one so close by you almost think(wish) you could reach out a touch them?
I have been missing my parents more then words can express. As we approach the anniversary of Dad's passing I find myself more emotional and bit unstable.. I had a lot of time in Park City this week to reflect on a lot of things and shed a lot of tears for my Dad, Mom and myself. This morning as I was leaving to come home this song was on the radio..You are loved (Don't give up) I am sure I have heard it before but today I REALLY heard it. Josh Groban sings it so I took it as a song from Mom sent to me to help get through these next few weeks..
I added it to my playlist. So turn up your speakers
and take a listen. I am sure it has a message
for all of us!
"You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)"
Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When your heart's heavy
I will lift it for you
Don't give up
Because you want to be heard
If silence keeps you
I will break it for you
Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up
Because you are loved
Don't give up
It's just the hurt that you hide
When you're lost inside
I will be there to find you
Don't give up
Because you want to burn bright
If darkness blinds you
I will shine to guide you
Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don't give up
Because you are loved
You are loved
Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
Don't give up
Every one needs to be heard
You are loved

Benefit Concert for Paul Cardall

I am a big believer in Paying it Forward and I think this is a great Benefit! Paul is a Heart Buddy of my nephew Bryson's.

MONDAY, APRIL 6TH. Kurt Bestor, Peter Breinholt, and Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband, along with other talented artists will perform a benefit concert for Cardall on Monday, April 6 at Cottonwood High School. The “Living for Eden Concert,” so named in honor of Cardall’s 3-year-old daughter, will get underway at 7:30 p.m. A silent auction will precede the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“It is a rare opportunity to see these three popular artists on a single stage,” said Jeremy Barron of the Baron Group, another friend of Cardall’s who is producing the concert. “I have produced a lot of concerts, some of which have been benefits. Never has a concert hit so closely to home as this benefit concert. Paul has helped a lot of people through his music, benefit events and work with other musicians. I think I can speak for all of us involved when I say that we are honored and excited to help one of our own."
Cardall, who was born 35 years ago with a severe congenital heart defect, has been on the waiting list for a heart transplant since last August. He has been limited in his ability to support his family and to meet escalating medical expenses during his prolonged illness. Seeing their friend’s condition, Cardall’s colleagues decided to do what they do best – make music and use their talents to benefit Paul, his wife Lynnette and their daughter Eden.
“Each of us wanted to do something to benefit Paul,” said Peter Breinholt. “Coming together as we are is our way of paying tribute to, as well as helping, one of our own. A hundred percent of the proceeds will go to help Paul with his mounting expenses.”"I’ve known Paul for many years,” said Ryan Shupe, “and we are honored and excited to help him in his time of need, not to mention we get to share the stage with some other incredible musicians. It’s going to be a great night!"Tickets for the concert are available online at http://www.livingforeden.com/ beginning Wednesday, March 11th and they can also be purchased at the door the day of the concert. The cost will be $12.00 per person, while those buying groups of five or more tickets can get them at $10.00 each.

The Drama Queen's Brother!!

The Drama Queens Brother!
By: Natalie Quinney

You were born, late at night,
on a cold Autumn evening.
I was almost 6,
As I boldly told the nurse.
Momma glared at my tiny white lie,
Do you remember that?

One year later, you begin to walk.
You followed me around like I meant the world to you.
I'd turn around and chase and giggle
and wrestle you to the ground,
Momma glared at my roughness,
Do you remember that?

Oh man! When you were four,
Your sister and I would paint your nails and dress you up in pretty pink dresses.
We'd dance and sing, the three of us.
Daddy glared at me for treating a boy like a girl.
Do you remember that?

I taught you how to ride a bike.
Not realizing the monster I would create.
Then you could torment the neighbors on wheels.
We built jumps, and destroyed things.
The mud was a blast.
Daddy glared at me for letting you get dirty.
Do you remember that?

You started playing football,
grew tough and tall.
You practiced your tackles on your siblings, the poor innocent, hopeless sisters.
Momma glared at your brutality.
Do you remember that?

I love to sit and watch you,
create and be yourself.
Your room is a mess, your head is hard.
But your passion runs deep.
An animal isn't an animal, its more like a friend.
Revenge is an internal drive,
Someone to love is everything,
And the adventure is always something to find.
Momma smiles at how much we are alike.
Do you remember that?
Natalie wrote this and I just had to share!
She is a great writer!

No place like home..No Place like home...

When I click my heels 3 times and say "There's no place like Home" this is where I end up.
I took the time this weekend and went to Bishop CA. I only spent 7 years of my life there but it will always be the place I call "Home". I feel such a since of peace and well being when I am there.

This picture was taken from the porch of Kay Kessler. She as been a second Mom to me for the last 25 plus years. I love to sit on her porch and stare at the view. I have had a lot of great conversations on that porch. If that porch could talk...(thank goodness it can not)

I had my 18th birthday party on the front lawn. I left my VW bug in neutral and it rolled backwards and almost hit the neighbors Porsche' but did hit the telephone poll!!

I could go to Bishop and never leave that porch and would consider it a great trip...

This trip I was able to get together with some great friends. One that I had not seen in 21 years.
It was a great trip...

I love being here in Utah and love being around my family and I would not change any of that.

Another Fun Weekend with the Kids

Ashlee won a essay contest and got to be a Jr Musher at the Dog Sled race. The last leg of the race was in Park City. It started off as a sunny day but soon turned into a blizzard. But that made it more fun for Ashlee I think.
This is Ashlee and her Mentor Melanie or the last leg of their ride.
They crashed right before. Ashlee said that was fun.
Melanie had trouble seeing around Ashlee as Ashlee was
about 4 inches taller then Melanie!

At the end of the ride Ashlee got to control the sled by herself.

Here you can see better how much taller she was then Melanie.
Also Melanie was the overall winner for the race. Woo Hoo!

Brock, Bryson and Nikki just hanging out watching all the
"Puppies"

Ashlee, Brock, Bryson, Chase and Preston

Annie and her Bug!
Thanks kiddos for another fun filled day!

Show me how to Play the Wii

So Jennylin and the kids came down Friday night on their way down to Provo. I truly love being a stop over! Jenny took Preston and Ashlee to the movies and I had Brock and Bryson at home with me. I told Brock I needed him to teach me to play the Wii. Needless to say I never got the controller away from either of the Boys. But that was ok! It was fun watching them have a good time. Bryson is not really playing but he would never know that! Brock has all the moves down including the sticking out of the tongue!
